Body Scan Benefit - Inner Imaging

The body scan is a scan that will detect many illnesses/diseases that otherwise would not have been detected or diagnosed (because of insurance regulations/approvals) until you would have shown symptoms of the disease/illness. The scan takes less than fifteen minutes to perform; scanning your entire torso - It takes longer to complete the paperwork in the office than it does to perform the scan.

The cost for the body scan for ACTIVE MEMBERS is $75. If you did not already submit your annual AFLAC Cancer Wellness Claim you will receive the $75 returned to you via AFLAC upon submitting the claim. (Mark off "Thermography" on the claim form.)

Unfortunately, the union does not cover active member's spouses for this benefit, but UFADBA has worked out a deal with Inner Imaging to provide the full body scan to an active member's spouse for a significant decreased rate of $375. Once again, if you are enrolled in the Family AFLAC Cancer Coverage and you did not already submit your annual AFLAC Cancer Wellness Claim for your spouse you will receive $75 returned to you via AFLAC upon submitting the claim. (Mark off "Thermography" on the claim form.)

For retired members, Inner Imaging will provide you with a heart and lung scan for the price of $150. If you continued your AFLAC Cancer Coverage upon retiring you as well will receive $75 returned to you if you have yet to submit your annual wellness claim.

Many members are worried about the scan detecting illnesses/diseases and in return causing the member to receive increased rates for life insurance. As per Inner Imaging the scan results are not released to the Medical Information Board, but if a scan detects a disease/illness and you consult your physician and begin treatment for the disease/illness then your physician will most likely release the information regarding the particular disease/illness to the Medical Information Board. Potentially, increasing your life insurance rates or eligibility for life insurance. Please do not let this deter you from receiving or seeking treatment for any potential findings of the scan.

Lastly, if your medical insurance is GHI please advise Inner Imaging upon making an appointment. GHI covers a blood test that will screen for many other illnesses/diseases that are otherwise non-detectable via the body scan. Unfortunately, HIP does not cover this blood screening.
